Edinburgh’s public art scene has really been gathering pace recently, another recent addition that I’ve been meaning to get down and snap is Spaceboy’s 6 shutter piece at Leith’s Newhaven harbour.

Along the rear of Welch’s Fishmonger he put together this large piece with the help of ECA students, and beer company ‘Red Stripe’.

Spaceboy writes about himself, ‘initially on graduating from art school I worked as a freelance graphic designer but since 06/07 I have abandoned graphic design to concentrate solely on self-generated creative projects in the field contemporary art. The rigorous problem solving process of graphic design and the experimental nature of that discipline continues to underpin my creative process as an artist.
