Never experienced the Notting Hill Carnival? No better time to tick it off the list than in 2013, with the Red Bull Music Academy supplying such a massive line up you’ll probably forget about the free drinks…

Combining the best of reggae and dance music into the one event, it looks set to be one of the places to spend the carnival. The stage will see the legendary Marley Brothers; Damian, Stephen, and Julian Marley with Stephen’s son Joseph Marley (aka Jo Mersa) joining the ranks.

Also appearing are fellow Jamaican reggae artists Wayne MarshallChristopher Ellis and Black Am I who, alongside Jo Mersa, form part of the Ghetto Youths Crew – the label founded by the Marley Brothers.

Bringing a bit of Scotland south to the party is Eclair Fifi. Fresh from this weekend’s LuckyMe party at Sneaky Pete’s, and a couple of shows into her Radio 1 – In New DJs We Trust residency, her sets are filled with an eclectic selection and definitely worth checking out.

Fellow FM DJ T Williams has the party sold for me, check out a recent mix here:

So, how to get involved? Good news – tickets are absolutely FREE, bad news is not all of us get to join the party as tickets are issued in a ballot – starting at 10am Monday. To be in with a fighting chance – check out Red Bull Music Academy’s website for more info.

For those of us who don’t get along – we can at least listen to the event streamed live on RBMA website. Good luck and see you under the Westway…hopefully! UKB
