London’s DDS Crew ,the graffiti artists responsible for much of the London Underground’s graffiti over the past 20 years, are to release a DVD documenting their work. For the past 5 years, members of the gang have been filming themselves avoiding guards, police, LU staff and importantly, painting the underground’s trains.
With an increased motivation by the city’s authorities to stamp out graffiti on trains, much of the work now painted never sees the light of day. Coupling this dwindling pay off with the increasing punishment (jail terms), has lead one of the films creators to suggest that the scene is taking its final breaths. However some of those within the scene don’t appear to have allowed this to affect their appetite for painting trains…
