Yung Acid’s mix for Johnny & Andrea at Hypnotic Groove comes in as January’s top set – with little short of an hour of eclectic selections generating a varied, interesting and genuinely engaging mix. One of the best I’ve heard in ages.

Russian duo Yung Acid describe their sound as somewhere between “dirty house, dry techno and pushy grime”, producing a mix for Hypnotic Groove that never settles,  and refuses to fall back on safe or bland choices. In short, there’s zero filler.

It’s a mix that’s summed up in many ways by Secondwoman’s experimental 100407jd7 track that’s dropped early on in the mix.

Stick this one on loud and enjoy – well played Yung Acid and Hypnotic Groove.
